Baby song
Latest update: September 2014. See the Norwegian pages for updated information.
Many churches organize Baby song. The sessions are not particularly religious though. I am not religious myself, and I still enjoy the baby song at Sofienberg church. It usually lasts a half hour followed by coffee and cakes. It´s also a nice place to meet other parents. The baby should be 2-3 months old before you bring him or her to Baby Song. Two places offer completely non religious baby song - the Oslo City Museum (Oslo Bymuseum) and the Norwegian Humanist Association. See below.
The Baby Song is generally in Norwegian, but don´t hesitate to ask that the lyrics of the songs be handed out. Even I, a Norwegian, don´t know the lyrics of all the songs, I just hum along! It´s a social and fun space - a good place to meet other mothers (and some fathers!). A Karma World organize something similar in English in Frogner every Friday - check it out!
