Take your baby "swimming" in the ocean or in a lake
According to Babycenter.com babies can not regulate their body temperature before they´re between 6 and 12 months old, so you should not take them for a swim before then, especially not in Norway´s cold water! The safest bet for really young babies, if you want to be outside, is the Frognerbadet.

- Tjuvholmen. Very handy if you´re downtown. Lot of grass to lie on, but the beach has small stones and not sand, so I recommend sandals.
- Paradisbukta, Huk and Bygdøy Sjøbad in Bygdøy. For the two first ones, take bus 30 to Huk and walk for 15 minutes to Paradisbukta, or do stroll number 5 or 6 on this page. For Bygdøy Sjøbad, walk from Huk or from Skøyen, or drive. There´s parking close to both Huk and Bygdøy Sjøbad.
- Sognsvann. Take subway/T-bane 6 to the end stop.
- Hovedøya. Take the boat from Vippetangen. See stroll 11 on this page.
- Langøyene. Take the 15-minute boat-ride from Vippetangen. You can get to Vippetangen on bus 60.
- Katten in Ljan/Nordstrand. Take bus 83 to Tårnåsen from the Central Station and get off at Katten.
- Lutvann in Østmarka. Take the subway 2 to Haugerud and walk.
- Hvervenbukta in Holmlia. Take bus 76 from the Central Station.
- Bogstadvannet in Bærum. Take subway 5 to Røa, then bus 41 to Bogstadvannet.
- Badedammen in Grorud. Take T-bane 5 to Vestli or the bus to Grorud. 15 minute walk to Badedammen.
- Hellviktangen in Nesodden. A great beach with a gorgeous view and a really nice and child-friendly restaurant/cafe. See how to get there on stroll number 8 on the page Strolls in Oslo.
