Jazz concerts
If you want to bring a little jazz into the life of the little one, several places offer concerts during the day, although mostly in weekends. These are not specifically adapted to children, but a little jazz can hardly hurt :)
Kari Grete Jacobsen in Østnorsk jazzforum recommends the following:
At www.jazzinoslo.no they try to get most of what happens on the jazz front, so it's a nice site to check out, especially the calendar on the left hand side of the page.
Most concerts are in the evenings. However there are quite a few concerts taking place on Saturdays at daytime.
On Saturdays New Orleans Workhsop jazzclub organizes weekly free concerts at 13.30 at Stortovets gjæstgiveri and at 14 in the foaje of Oslo konserthus. This is mainly traditional jazz and New Orleans-inspired jazz.
On most Saturdays Oslo jazzforum organizes concerts at 16 in Herr Nilsen. Entrance fee 150kr.
Other concerts (not just jazz)
Blårollinger at the Park Theatre has family concerts one Sunday a month - it´s perhaps best for children and not so much for babies, but it could be fun when your baby gets a little bigger. Program on http://www.blarollinger.no/
At Cafétheatret in Grønland the Nordic Black Theatre has events for families (theater, concerts and more) on Sundays. Check out http://nordicblacktheatre.no/
The Riksscenen - Norwegian Hub for Traditional Music and Dance - has a concept for kids they call LilleRiksen that takes place every other Saturday at their premises in Schous cultural brewery. These days you can enjoy performances in the genres of folk music, folk dance, world music and more. This season of LilleRiksen is sadly over, but they start up again in the fall of 2013. Check out their website, as the autumn program will be published before the summer holidays.
In Aftenposten on Fridays (or is it on Thursdays?) they also have a good overview of events for children.
